safari not responding on my mac os big sur 11.6.7

Did this begin after upgrading your operating system? How does it not respond - just no nothing? Any messages? Also, have you confirmed that your internet is working, can you send and receive emails? Do you have another browser and if so, does it work?
The beach ball would just continue to spin and the force quit app showed Safari not responding.I have another browser (FireFox) on the same mac. Also have several iPhone and iPads and all connected to internet via safari. After several powering down and powering up left it alone overnight and this AM Safari came up as if nothing was wrong..Have also quit and restarted Safari several times today with not issues. So I guess it cured itself or I will see it again.
