Recovering voice memos

I have had problems with getting my watch recorded voice memos to sync with my phone, for months they were on my watch only. Now they are gone from my watch yet new recordings are on both watch and phone. Where did the old recordings go? How do I recover them? They were never deleted.

See the article What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support

Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups only include information and settings stored on your device. They do not include information already stored in iCloud such as Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, Notes, Reminders, Voice Memos4, Messages in iCloudiCloud Photos, and shared photos

Restore Apple Watch from a backup - Apple Support

Your Apple Watch is backed up automatically to your paired iPhone, and you can restore it from a stored backup. Apple Watch backups are included when you back up your iPhone—either to iCloud, or to your Mac or PC. If your backups are stored in iCloud, you can’t view the information in them

So voice memos will not be found or backed up .

As per the article Record and play voice memos on Apple Watch - Apple Support

Voice memos you record on your Apple Watch automatically sync to your Mac, iPad, and any iOS devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID.

See other article Search for or rename a recording in Voice Memos on iPhone - Apple Support

Search for a recording

  1. In the Voice Memos list, swipe down to reveal the search field.
  2. Tap the search field, enter part or all of the recording name, then tap Search.

That would work in the past however, the list of recordings is not there. It is not synced and the 25 that were on my watch are now gone. They never showed up in a backup, and when I check there is 1.6GB of info (recordings) on my voice memos app in my watch but not on my mac or phone. So, this is not helpful as I cannot even play the 25 that used to be on my watch. I am trying to locate them to be able to export or do anything with them.
