macmail sidebar not displaying my various accounts

not sure what I did - but my sidebar of my macmail is not showing my mailboxes anymore. It used to list my various accounts and does not anymore. Also, my junk emails are now showing up in my inbox and it's pretty infuriating - as deleting them does nothing (because they are currently in the junk mailbox).

Why doesn't macmail content display? I have been opening and closing macmail to view the content in individual emails for two years. This is beyond inconvenient. Apple tech support has been zero help. I have tried countless fixes. Occasionally I will get a window that displays content. My recommendation to others with this problem, never close the working window. Hit the yellow button to hide it and call it back when needed. I realize everyone eventually has to restart, but this workaround is better than anything else I have discovered.

Deleted junk mails (RCN) keep reappearing I use Mac OS 13.4 Ventura, with Mail for MacOS. Lately, whenever I go to the Junk Mail folder in my RCN account and delete the mails (confirming by clicking on the "do you want to delete 150 junk mails?" dialog box), they disappear momentarily--then reappear! The only way I can permanently delete them is by logging into RCN via Webmail. (And the reason I use Mail for MacOS is precisely to avoid going through the pain-in-the-butt of logging into webmail, which is an infuriatingly redundant time-waster). Is this something I have to contact RCN to fix? (I hate doing that because their customer service reps are incomprehensible and generally incompetent). Is this something I can remedy in Mail's Settings?

All mailboxes in mac mail not showing any mal Using Monterey 12.7.1 on Apple M1 mini and the "all inboxes" emails disappeared literally in front of me. I restarted mail. I did nothing new. Any help appreciated. Thank you.
