2n generation apple tv won't connect to wifi

2n generation apple tv won't connect to wifi. When I click on the wifi network I want to connect to it say I have entered the wrong password even though I didn't enter a password.

1. Verify that the router is not set to use WPA3. Instead set WPA3+WPA2 compatibility mode.
2. If the device has connected to the same network name in the past, then it might automatically connect using a remembered password. Try using the Other… option to enter both the network name and password manually.

Is the 2nd gen obsolete?

Technically yes, but that has no bearing on connecting to Wi-Fi networks. What works will keep working until there is a reason that it doesn’t anymore.
