I'm using BRAVE or Chrome for Banking.

I see several posts about SAFARI and on Line banking issues.

The banking website display The message to "allow cookies, popups and site cross tracking" to enter Bill Pay on the site; actually bill pay is not on the same domain so BILL PAY is selected cross tracking blocks BILL PAY. I don't really do programming so I don't know if APPLE could add the option to allow cross tracking to the settings on the Safari tab "Setting for...." Google seems to have figure how to allow it in Chrome and Brave allows you to toggle it off and on by the address bar without having to navigate to preferences.

Q - " There's ONE cross-site setting for tracking in System Preferences. "

A - Sorry and maybe just a Typo but the Setting one refers to is in Safari >> Preferences >> Privacy as per below image

A - Yes you are correct - it is Only ON or OFF

A - If the user are not pleased with this feature or purpose - suggest communicating directly to Apple via the Feedback site

A - These is nothing we can do about this feature or in the Users case Lack of Feature found in Third Party Web Browsers

ku4hx: Using Safari to access the On Line banking is No problem. There's three accounts with the bank associated with the log in. No issues with transfers between the accounts. No issues with downloading e-statements from credit card web sites or auto-pay funds transfers. I believe you to be correct in that it's a security/privacy requirement of the to on line banking to access BILL PAY which is a separate domain. Until recently The Online Banking and Bill Pay feature required separate log in. The message is clear: To access bill pay the BROWSER settings must Allow Third Party Cookies; Cookie tracking & Cross-site Tracking.

As is clearly shown in the image insertions of my previous comment, The Brave Browser has "individual domain" privacy/security settings. Safari, on the Safari menu, has individual sit settings for blocking pop ups, site zoom, etc. but not cross tracking. There's ONE cross-site setting for tracking in System Preferences. If "Prevent cross-site tracking" is checked, Bill pay cannot be accessed. I prefer and continue Safari as primary browser. Banking & Bill Pay? To keep from getting angry with myself because I have to log out, 'Uncheck" cross site tracking and back in to get to bill pay then go back to "check" it to stop cross tracking...No for now.

Your input is appreciated.

If @rom.ph's suggestion does not work:

Are you using any browser extensions which may be interfering?

Are you using an anti-virus apps, cleaning apps, or third party security software? These types of apps will interfere with the normal operation of macOS and are not needed on a Mac.

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if you have the same issue. Safe Mode disables third party software from running at boot & login.

Do you have the same issue with another browser?

Try creating another macOS user account, logout of your current user, then log into the new user account. See if you have the same issue.

rom.ph First Allow me to apologize. It seems my intended information providing an alternative (for those with on line banking issues using Safari) to navigating to Safari Preferences to toggle Prevent Cross-Site Tracking Off then back on for banking. Safari, both on my MacBook and both iMac's will go to Bill Pay If I first turn uncheck Prevent Cross Site Tracking. The other browsers mentioned have settings to allow Cross-site tracking for each of the sites I visit.

For example: My Banking and Bill Pay Allow Cross-Site Tracking

But when I go to my FB account Cross-Site Tracking is Not allowed. (It is by Website like the Safari illustration allowing individual settings my original Post.)

I just saves me from forgetting to go back to Safari Preferences when I'm done banking.

Again Thank you.

I am not having any issues beyond the inconvenience of toggling Cross-Site Tracking within Preferences. I explained my intent to rom.ph. BTW: I've been an Mac user since 1992 and use native applications. I use Safari as my primary browser.

The image insertion in the original post illustrates an alternative for customized privacy setting for each site.

Thank you for the suggestions.

p.phillips:

There's ONE cross-site setting for tracking in System Preferences is typo. Your are correct it is Safari >> Preferences >> Privacy.

Thank You for link to Feedback.

I see it was not appropriate that I suggest third party web browsers in Apple discussions so, how I turn off comment, inactivate or delete this post be Since my Original intend was an alternative to ON or OFF only feature?
