Ringtone Not Showing Up in iPhone

I purchased a song from iTunes. Utilized the 'Create Ringtone' tool within iTunes and purchased the ringtone. I synched the phone with my computer. The 'Ringtone' folder in my Library and on my iPhone both show the new ringtone which I created so it seems as though it was synched correctly. However the ringtone does not show up on my iPhone under Settings>Sounds>Ringtone. Just the standard out-of-box ringtones are there.

The ringtone is under 30 seconds. Manually synch ringtones is unchecked. I am baffled by this one. I synched the phone multiple times. What am I missing? I thought I was pretty savvy at the iPhone but this is my first custom ringtone so I guess I have a lot to learn.

With your phone connected, iTunes running, after "Apps', the "Ringtone" tab, do you have a check in the box labeled 'Sync Ringtones"? If so, what do you have checked, "All Ringtones or Selected Ringtones"? If selected, is there a check in the box next to the ringtone in question?

I have "All Ringtones" selected. There is a check next to the ringtone so it is selected.

On your phone, Settings>Sounds>...when you click on "Ringtone"...above "Standard", is there a "Custom" listing, and above that a "Purchased" listing? If so, is the ringtone listed there?

I was looking at the bottom of the list and through the list. I missed it at the top... right in front of me!!! Thanks!!!

I am having the same problem with the new OS. My ringtones show up in the Itunes computer folder, and they show up under "Ringtones" in Itunes, and they're less than 30 seconds, but when I go to Sounds/Ringtones they do not show up and there's not an option for "standard" or "custom," just the ringtones show.

I am having this same problem. Everything that ISN'T my iPhone is telling me there are custom ringtones on my iPhone but when I go to select them as a ringtone on my phone, only one of them shows up. What's weird is that one of them showed up when I put only one on, but when I added more, only one of the new ones shows up and the one that showed up before no longer shows.

Odd, right?

I have the same problem.

I can see the ringtones in ITunes in my laptop. Laptop and iPhone 4 are synced.
I tried both ringtone sync options in iTunes: *All ringtones* and *Selected ringtones*.

But, it is not shown in iPhone in *Settings -> Sounds -> Ringtone*.

I am having the same problem and tried everything I can find through searching. When I click on Settings > Sounds > Ringtones - all I see is a list of the standard ringtones...nothing indicating Standard, Custom or Purchased - the first one listed is Marimba (strange this is frist, the next one is Alarm) and the last one Xylophone.

Appreciate your help!

Were these ringtones purchased or created via exporting to a 40 second clip? To play them on your phone they must be less than 30 seconds AND in AAC format with a .m4r extension. Technically you can create a ringtone from any song in your library by doing this. In file info of th song change the start and stop time to any :30 second...or less... Time and follow the preceding steps.

I think I figured it out! I had the same problem. I had to add an artist and an album to mine and then they finally showed up! Good luck, hope it works for you.
