How do I delete purchase history?

You may not delete your purchase history. You can't pretend that you didn't buy something.

You may hide purchases.

Your purchase history is forever inscribed on Apple servers. It is always available from within your account details.

Of course, I figured. It seems unreasonable that one can't erase it to free up space, etc.

The purchase history doesn't take up any space on an Apple device. Your account details are reading it from the cloud.
