How do you connect the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to the iPad Air 5th gen?

How do you connect the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to the iPad Air 5th gen? I followed some instructions I found on YouTube but it doesn’t seem to work.

Steps were:

Press & hold small button on top of controller until green lights flash.
Remote should appear on iPad’s Bluetooth menu.

The light on the emote flash but the controller does not appear in the Bluetooth menu on the iPad.

My Nintendo Switch Lic Pro Controller won’t connect I have done the proper things to connect my Nintendo Switch Lic Pro Controller and I have even pressed the button to connect it and it shows to have connected on my iPhone which has been updated to the iOS 16.6 update but the lights on my controller are still flashing. Why?
