My iMac 24 won't mount my G-Drive ArmorATD 5TB

My new iMac 24 won't mount my SanDisk G-Drive ArmorATD 5TB but it mounts fine on my MacBook Pro. DiskUtility can run First Aid, but can't mount it on the iMac. Erase Disk returns an error code. When I restart with it plugged in, the computer crashes. My SanDisk G-Drive ArmonATD 2TB mounts and runs fine.

Anyone else with this issue?

I search for firmware updaters and could not find any but Apple Support helped me solve the issues. Others will run into it.

The problem is the operating system my iMac shipped with. Out of the box it was running 12.0.1. I worked with Apple Support and we checked everything in normal and safe mode, including the power to the iMac. Then we installed 12.4 and finally it mounted normally. Only the upgrade to 12.4 did the trick. Mystery solved.
