There is a good article in Apple Support regarding notifications. Please check it out. Notifications on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Scroll to the bottom of the article for what to check if you are not receiving notifications. They include making sure your Apple Watch is not locked or in Do Not Disturb mode.
