Removing a co-owner is an entirely different matter. If an account is co-owned, it’s a joint account, not an individual account. Legally there is a big distinction. If a co-owner is removed or leaves/quits the account, the joint account is permanently closed. Any balances on the account are still due and both former owners are legally responsible for paying the balance per the terms of the Apple Card Customer Agreement.
If the former co-owners want an individual account, they would need to reapply for an individual Apple Card account.
