I just got a new phone (iphone 13) and switched my data over to the new phone. However, my phone number did not go with and now i can only receive and send with my apple ID. I went and tried to add my phone number to my apple ID, but it sent a verification code to that number (which i don't have access to now?).
How do i connect my phone number so I can send and receive messages?

If you can get a code and sign in, you need to change/add the number on your Apple ID. Look in the Security section when signed in online. You may have to add the new number before you can remove the old number. After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime on all devices/computers.
