I have a M1 mac mini that I use in a trailer and I need to improve the public wifi reception with an external usb wifi antenna. Is there one for this mac or any other workaround. I have even tried to use Parallels with a windows driver ( and latest usb wifi antenna) but no luck
The wireless antenna is in the bottom cover of the Mac Mini and things like high speed USB cables, cordless phone bases and other electronic devices in the area can interfere with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth reception.

First I would test the Mac Mini standing on it's side with the bottom cover facing the public Wi-Fi source to see if that helps.
You can get and use a Mac Mini side stand if necessary to help support the Mac Mini.

I have found that standing it on its side does help but my wifi source at times is a long distance away and I am trying to use a high directional wifi usb antenna mounted on a temporary mast a distance from my trailer. Thanks for the input.
Hi, I have made a pringles can type antenna but I can't find any drivers that support my operating system. There is a lot of usb wifi antennas but the mac driver support stops at 10.X. and I am running silicon hardware m1 mac with OS12. Thanks for the response.
Curious if the issue(s) could be resolved with a different USB antenna, inside other cans?

Other ideas you may be familiar; reminds me of earlier attempt to extend outdoor
antenna for AirPort Extreme (final edition, 54k orb-spaceship) - not using its Port.
Whole A.E. thing fit nicely into a 5 gallon plastic bucket; it sat on top nearby roof.
All wires were water-proofed enough, going in and the Wi-Fi got out through it..
That covered part of front yard, 1/2 of 5 acres; geography & nearby hill, limits its range.

Limited 'dish network' was harder to sustain, given extreme atmospheric weather events.

Hi, I'm sorry but there aren't any drivers for my mac configuration for any usb wifi antenna (checked many, many of them). I have already built a can type windows driver supported but only old mac OS.
