Table menu > Insert current date.


See Keyboard shortcut (listed beside the menu item, and rewritten in left to right order of the non-letter keys below)



Press Shift - Control Command - D for Date

 or    Shift - Control Command - T for Time of day.

"Oops. Mine was a shortcut I remapped to be easier. Some of the built-in shortcuts take too many fingers."


I was scratching my head over that, as it seemed logical, and triggered a false (and fuzzy) memory. I was thinking Apple had changed the keystroke combination between versions somewhere, and I hadn't noticed.
