Apple watch 7 stainless steel issue

Hi all, I have 2days old apple watch 7 gold stainless steel. I use apple nike sport band. Today I have put band down so I could use a case on watch. To my horror I have noticed scratches in the area where

band is. I am really shocked. I had older AW SS and no such issue with them and I changed bands frequently. Is this issue with AW7 applicable for claim with reseller where I have bought them?
