Modify the Algorithm
Unrealistic monthly challenges. Everyone has gotten one. It's a common, recurring complaint dating back to 2015. If others want to let a questionable algorithm set their exercise goals, fine, but I'm over it. Why there still no way for me to set a monthly challenge for myself, based on my personal requirements? Every time I hit a personal best, the algorithm adds more, sometimes a lot more. You can't just keep adding effort like there is no upper limit. Challenges are meant to provide subliminal motivation--you feel proud to achieve one, you feel disappointed when you don't. And when the goal is completely unrealistic, it generates negative feedback. It seems the only way to defeat the algorithm is to stop using the watch for a month, throwing all the metrics off. I can wear the watch ignore the challenges, but that's a subliminal failure no matter how well I'm doing. There is an easy fix here--let us set our own monthly challenges. Let the watch work for us, instead of us working for the watch. Anyone else on board with that?
