Is there a setting where if I save a file with the same name in the same folder it will NOT overwrite but instead add a number? i.e.: Saved_file; Saved_file_01; Saved_file_02....

I don't know if they changed it in Monterey, but in earlier OSes, if you try to save the same type of file (say a Word doc) with the same name in the same folder, a dialogue box will ask you if you want to overwrite the original or Keep Both. Select Keep Both and the one you're adding to the folder will be called by the same name with "copy" after it. The next file with the same name will be called "copy 1" etc.
You can hold the option key and choose "Save As…" and add the number yourself.
Check the preferences of the app you are using. There is not global setting for that in macOS.
Thanks for the response. I am making an animated Giff with PNGs from INDD. I'll have hundreds of frames so the "save as" and manual renaming is really time-consuming. I was looking for a shortcut :D
