Can I use the Apple Watch side on the MagSafe Duo Charger to charge AirPods instead?

I want to get the Duo Mag Safe wireless charger, and have an iPhone and Airpods. I don’t have an Apple Watch. Can I use that side to charge the Airpods instead?
