Soundcard gets recognised by iPad and iPhone but doesn't work

I have apple usb camera adapter - just bought it from the apple itself - I connect it to my iphone, ipad or and the update icon appears - I click proceed and then nothing happens. What should I do?

I bought it to connect my soundcard (class compliant) to my iphone or ipad and on both devices it just doesn't work - I mean the soundcard gets recognised but it just doesn't work

any help?
