Why is iCloud download documents when they have status "in Cloud" on my local iCloud Drive an Mac?
A problem to fix for Apple, and I know your support team reads the content we write in the Community:
I have a MacBook Pro with 8 TB and a 2 TB iCloud. I have the situation, that I stored my own music 900 GB in the iCloud (I have a Apple Music too) but secure is secure. I loaded all of my files over the local iCloud drive and then up to the iCloud. All files had at that time the status "Downloaded", that OK. After everything was upload to the iCloud, I started the action "Remove Download"on my local iCloud Drive to all the files, because I need them not, they are already in the Apple App "Music". After I deleted all files locally, the iCloud in iCloud Drive is "In iCloud / Arrow down". Now I see all my files in the iCloud on all Devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac,, etc. After weeks with no problem, I had to log myself out of my iCloud account and logged my self in back again, just on the MacBook Pro. On all other devices, not. After that the system started to download again all files 900 GB again, and I have no chance to stop it. So soon my MacBook is online, it starts to download again. But all the files have on the local iCloud Drive "In iCloud".
It would not be a problem, if the user has access to a flat download service. But when I'm got my mobile service with 40 GB per month, it kills my flat rate and gives me even the risk to go over and have then huge roaming fees. Apple, why is it not possible to stop the download from iCloud permanently? And why is it downloading when the Status on my local iCloud Drive is "In iCloud.
