New iPad setup from previous one , all apps logged out?

Just purchased an iPad Air 5

have run the quick transfer from old iPad Air 2. All went ok and new one is identical to old iPad.

BUT every app etc has been logged out, this is a major inconvenience, some have been ongoing for years so to find old passwords and access info is a real pain!

surely the process would keep all the info & account details logged in?

is there a way to do this, I don’t mind doing a reset, or restore, on the new iPad Air 5 as its only been used for a couple of days so far

i thought I saw somewhere that doing a restore from a pc would keep all these apps etc signed in, just as the old one was. I still have the old one active?

any help or suggestions very welcome

thanks

Have you saved your account credentials for Apps and services in your iPad keychain? If so - and if Keychain in iCloud is enabled on your iPad, all your passwords would be securely backup-up to iCloud.

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > Keychain > iCloud Keychain - set to ON

You can store and access your saved passwords here:

Settings > Passwords

When transferring data and Apps to another device, or if restoring a backup, Apps will always be signed-out to protect your accounts and services from unauthorised access. However, with your passwords safely stored in your Keychain, signing-in again is trivial.

You only need concern yourself with encrypted backup if using iTunes with a PC/Mac.

If you set a backup password, sensitive information (including passwords saved in the iPad Keychain) is included in the iTunes backup. If you don’t set a backup password, sensitive information is not included in the iTunes backup.

Passwords in Apps will not necessarily automatically populate from the iPad keychain.
