Remove Adguard

How do I remove the final two pieces of an Adguard installation?

  • Adguard Personal CA certificate (Root certificate authority)

  • "com.adguard.mac.adguard.network-extension.systemextension"

I can't modify the permissions on the extension in order to delete it, and the warnings on deleting the certificate are a little unnerving:

    • "Are you sure you want to delete “Adguard Personal CA”?
    • "Important: If a certificate with custom trust settings is deleted, it will remove those settings, requiring you to enter your password."

Thanks. I tried all of those steps, but the system extension remains. I can't modify the permissions on that file to allow me to delete it, although I haven't tried Terminal. I have read that attempts to gain authority to delete in Terminal is unsuccessful too.

I did receive a note from Adguard support indicating that simply deleting the security certificate via keychain access would cause no problems. I did delete it and have noticed no issues yet.
