Emails in Trash are removed after a certain date

Is there a way to keep emails that are sitting in Trash for as long as I want? I am using an iPhone XS and currently my Trash only goes back to 7/11/22. Older messages are no where to be found. I have my email settings set to keep messages forever.

I am trying to find an email that apparently was sent to Trash on accident because it is no longer in my Inbox. It is dated 7/8/22. I don’t want to have to restore from backup just to retrieve this one message.
