Why is the iOS Weather App so inaccurate?

Over the last year, I have noticed that asking Siri to share the upcoming weather is incredibly inaccurate. Just yesterday, I asked Siri if it would be raining in New York City this week. Siri responded that there was no rain happening at all this week. The same was reflected in the Weather widget. Today, there are massive thunderstorms in the area for the majority of the day.

Can Apple provide some guidance on what is being done to address this? Is it a matter of using a different, more accurate weather service?

Hi vihurricane,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that when you ask Siri about the weather, it's not always correct.

The Weather app on your iPhone receives its data via The Weather Channel as outlined here: Feature availability and data sources in the Weather app - Apple Support

Are there any other features that Siri reports incorrectly?

We look forward to your reply.

Cheers!
