iPadOS 16 Device Compatibility

Hi there apple community,

Is there anyone out there who is frustrated that iPadOS 16 is not going to be compatible with an iPad Air 2. I have two such iPads that I use a lot, and they work really well.

But since the announcement for iOS 16, and that iPad Air 2 is not listed as a supported device, spells the doom for my beloved iPads. As we all know that soon after the release, all the apps that I use on my iPads will stop working on older versions of the iOS (I.e. the current 15.6).

And what I’ve spent a lot of my hard earned money on will become unusable, they should last a lifetime, certainly a lot longer than this.

Are there others out there who feel as I do, if so please voice your opinion, and let apple know that they should continue to support the products we have paid dearly for and are still working amazingly, but soon will not because of actions taken by apples development program.

I really hope representative’s of Apple respond to this issue and help us.

Please, please, don’t make me loose my iPads I can’t afford new ones.

Kind regards

Carl

iOS 16 Incompatibility Concerns:

Hardware Requirements are not Met:

Q1. "Hi there apple community, Is there anyone out there who is frustrated that iPadOS 16 is not going to be compatible with an iPad Air 2. I have two such iPads that I use a lot, and they work really well.[...}"

A1. This is not an option because your device does not have the hardware requirements for the new iPad OS. You might have spent a lot of money on it, but remember that Apple is proprietary, meaning they make their own calls on compatibility and usage.

Contact Apple Support:

Q2. "I really hope representative’s of Apple respond to this issue and help us."

A2. These are User-to-User forums. Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. So, you wont get an y direct feedback from Apple here. So, contact Apple Support via phone, if you want to hear what they have to say on this.

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through.
