USB C to USB

I just got my ipad air 4, and about to set up and restore back up from my macbook air 2015. The cable came with the ipad is an usb c to usb c. Thought I could try to use my android usb C cable to conect the ipad to the computer, but the connection is on and off frequrently. Can't be sure if it is a cable issue or something else, because the cable works fine between my android phone to macbook air. In terms of accessories, I might have to get something from amazon which I dislike. Thankfully restoring ipad is not a top prioity for me. In order to have it able to sync over WIFI I would have to connect with a cable first with the computer. Suggestion?

Certified USB Type-A to USB-C cables are readily available from good computer stores - and from Apple. Here are just a few examples…
