Hi. Is there any way to get back the money after purchasing an iTunes gift card that never was used but was purchased because a scam attempt?

I have a friend who purchased two $500 iTunes gift cards (total $1000.00 in iTunes gift cards in response to an a scam attempt that I happened to intervene just in time before she had given the scammer either card's redemption codes and was able to save her from falling victim to the infamous "iTunes gift card" form of payment needed before her Amazon account could be fixed after a hacker (prob same person) had made several fraudulent charges on her Visa and Mastercard payment methods on file on her Amazon account (and rather large purchases totaling over $2300.00). She thought she had called Amazon customer service about the purchases and charges to dispute them and get help with securing her Amazon account etc. and googled Amazon's number (never assume the number is right for Amazon CS if found on google--contact Amazon directly through the Contact Us tab in the My Account section of amazon's website or app, go through the steps choosing I have a different issue, I need more help, etc. until the chat window goes to the page that prompts you to have Amazon call you if you are unsure of the authenticity of a phone number found on google, go directly to the online retailer website or app and find the contact us tab-especially for Amazon customer service). When she called the number she found online for amazon, she got a fake amazon number obviously, and that was when the scammer started into his script and told her that she would be held responsible for the charges and not be refunded or couldn't help her until she paid a fee of $1000.00 first and had to be paid for with an iTunes redemption code and told her exactly how to obtain the goods and was rather adamant and impatient rudely demanding her to immediately that instant to run to the nearest store and buy two, not one $100 card or a mediocre average amount, but two $500 iTunes gift cards specifically and it had to be done immediately and was $1000.00 telling her she could not dispute the charges on her account not made by her until that $1000.00 was paid first. Afterwards, supposedly he could wave his magic wand and fix her account and refund the money stolen. So, she stopped by my house and asked me to look into it and see if I thought it was legit and I was able to stop her from losing $1000.00 by. giving the redemption codes to that scum, I mean scammer.

So, that was a dodged bullet but she now has $1000 in iTunes gift cards and doesn't have any use for iTunes cards and wants her money back if possible in full before considering a loss trying to sell them to an online buyer for sometimes less than 75% of the value, and doesn't know how to even go about doing that at all. So, I feel horrible for her and want to try and help get her money back for the itunes cards, and then start the process through amazon to dispute fraudulent charges made to be refunded all that money too... and figured it couldn't hurt to start directly with Apple and go from there if it is not possible to somehow return the cards with unused redemptions codes directly from Apple in cases like this if it is possible to avoid any 3rd party online reselling taking a loss but not nearly as it could have been. Thanks for your feedback.
