How do I turn off iCloud iDrive auto download in Monterey 12.5 to a MacBook Pro?
The default setting for iDrive seems to be to down load files to the desktop when there is drive space available. There does not appear to be an option to turn off iDrive auto downloading. Can iDrive be disengaged but still allow iCloud to be a backup for files?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. To view all adjustable options for iCloud Drive on Mac, you can navigate to System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive. You'll see the button that reads "Options.." that will list options you can select or deselect. You can deselect Desktop & Documents Folders, however there isn't an option listed that allows you to disable the auto downloading only.
