Disabled phone

I have a loved one that passed away and videos on this old phone I have. I powered it up and I tried to guess my passcode too many times and now it's disabled. I logged into my Itunes account and I don't even see it there. I think it's a iphone 5. I don't even know. I'm devastated. Do I have any recourse at all?
