video issue

my external display shows my wallpaper picture but not the rest of the screen. How do I get to see everything on the external monitor. New MB PRO 16"

Hi,

Not sure if it will be exactly the same on your Mac, but go to System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement and check the box for Mirror Displays.

can connect to external monitor with mac book pro 2021 14 inch but only the background is displayed I choose the external monitor as extended display but only the background appears. This is a work laptop and not using my apple id. Is that an issue?

HDMI connection to Tv monitor My HDMI connection from my MacBook Pro to my TV monitor has always worked until just two days ago. Now, only my desktop image shows on the TV monitor but not what's on my MacBook screen. I've used this a hundred times and this has never happened. What went wrong? How can I fix this?
