Why doesn’t my Touch ID work to download apps anymore?

I used to be able to download apps with my Touch ID and now I can’t. Why is that?

Open settings>>Touch ID and passcode and see If Touch ID is on for the App Store. If it is, restart your iPhone to see if the problem persists
