Thank you. A colleague informs me that I am looking for USB-C on both ends for my new mini I pad and MacBook Pro. I did not understand and thought the USB C was a thunderbolt. I was wondering if there was a simple small converter that would convert a USBC /lightning cable into a USBC at both ends? Then I can use my many older cables.
today's USB-C and ThunderBolt devices are switching as fast as digital logic and transmission; line technology will allow.
You really do need new, special-purpose cables for for your highest speed connections.
Any converter device you have to place in a cable to change from one technology to another (e.g., lightning to ThunderBolt) will slow it down.
did you man OLD-style ThunderBolt ports on a 2015 MacBook Pro to new USB-C ThunderBolt for modern device?
the answer depends on what device you need to connect, exactly.
Assuming you mean this type of cable:
No. No adapter can produce a Thunderbolt signal out of a Lightning cable.
Easiest thing to do is to get Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cables directly.
