On my Apple Watch, why did my password change with no input from me? I was activating a new phone, my watch was charging. When I put my watch on my wrist, it is asking for a simple password. I have always used 6 digit password. I did not change it.

Thank you for trying to help. In order to make that switch, you need to enter……the 4 digit (simple) passcode. I never set a simple passcode.
I worked it out. Erased the watch and started over. Thanks.
Here is my setup - as shown from “Passcode” in the Watch app on my iPhone. If your setup is similar and you have a six digit passcode, try turning off “Simple Passcode”.
It’s not clear what “password” means exactly. I will assume (perhaps incorrectly) it means your Apple Watch passcode.

Yes, this refers to my Apple Watch password that I have used for a couple of years. 6 digits. It's not hard to set up. It's a setting. Anyway, the password changed to 4 digits. I have no idea which 4 digits. Its not my password. I can work around it but I'm going to lose data.
