Photos not aligned when printing from Numbers

I gather this is an old problem -- but I haven't seen any solutions for it. I have created a table in Numbers and dragged photos into one of the columns. Everything is properly aligned, but when I print everything after the first page has the photos slipped upward out of their boxes. I tried reducing the top and bottom margins to zero but that didn't help. Any ideas? Using OS 12.2.1 and Numbers 12.1.

Numbers generally isn't well suited to serve as a photos display and printing application. Are you sure you are using the right tool?

Note that you can paste a photo into the background of a Numbers cell after first double-clicking a cell (so the cursor is blinking inside it) and then pasting with command-v or Edit > Paste.

Just dragging a photo into Numbers leaves it "floating" on top, not associated with particular cell.
