Apparently, whoever was responsible for answering this question originally didn't quite comprehend the question. I have the same question which is: After plugging my iPhone in to charge/synch with my iMac, the charge icon is charging but stops after a few minutes.

This is a Community forum where Apple users are trying to help other users. Since you did not get a helpful answer here, it would be best to tap Get Support at the top, right of the screen. This will get you in touch with an Apple employee.
