Sound quality is reduced when using Bluetooth headphones with Mac

Hi, I have tried several Bluetooth headphones / earbud with MacOS (latest version, Mac Mini M1) and everytime I start Zoom or Facetime, the sound quality turns bad. This is a known problem, see If sound quality is reduced when using Bluetooth headphones with your Mac - Apple Support.

The solution recommended is to close apps that use the microphone.

But how is this a solution? I want to use my bluetooth headphones with Zoom and NOT have reduced sound quality. And don't tell me I should switch to another microphone because I have a Mac Mini which doesn't have a built-in one....

Anyone who solved this problem?

Will it also be the case if I buy the latest Airpods Pro? (I believe so, after doing a Google search)

Any thoughts are much appreciated.
