If you only use Catalina then yes, keep your apps there.
Question, why did you create a second partition, why didn't you just upgrade the Mojave partition? If you are no longer using Mojave you may want to consider getting rid of that partition.

Yes. Each OS needs to be on a separate partition and use a separate filesystem.

Thanks, I only use Catalina so is it best to keep my applications there?
+1, Yes it is normal.
Thanks, Mojave still gives me access to certain programmes that Catalina won't support eg Acrobat pro so I'll be keeping it at least for a while now.
