Mac Mini M1 Montery 12.5 Constant issues

So, Safari refuses to run anymore, and. to force quit I have to run disc first aid. Also, In order for it to recognize my external optical drive, I have to reboot the mac. This started with the optical drive issue a month ago and the safari crap started yesterday. Updated from os 12.4 to 12.5 today – no love.

Problems with macOS Ventura 13.7 Update Two days ago I installed the updated Safari and the update to macOS Ventura 13.6.9 to Ventura 13.7. After completing the installation and start up I logged in to macOS and the pop-up for optimization appeared. This panel led to the busy system rotating sprocket icon. This process continued for 9 hours without completion. I had to interrupt with power shutdown. Subsequently, each system power up goes to the optimization panel and the busy system sprocket icon ad infinitum– and will run until I power the system down. I note that the "optimization process" cannot be interrupted. My hardware is a moderately loaded 2018 Mac mini. Anyone with experience, suggestions here would be appreciated. HELP! Thanks, tom

Monterey 12.6 update - Safari 16.0 is crashing on startup. Anyone else? I have just updated my iMac M1 to Monterey 12.6. The Software Update also updated Safari to 16.0. Now my Safari is crashing on start-up. I tried starting Safari on Safe Mode, and Safari continues to crash on start-up. What else can I do to resolve this issue? _Roger

Disconnect your external drive(s), startup in Safe Mode followed by a normal restart, reconnect your external drive(s) and test.
