It mounts the CD but then unmounts and remounts if you click on a file. Works fine on the MacBook pro running the same software (Monterey 12.5). I am using a Satechi Aluminum USB-C Multiport Pro Adapter to connect it as I only have usb c ports.
I have rebooted the computer.
Any ideas ? Greatly appreciated.
in your case, to connect the optical drive directly to the MBA, you need to use an USB-C to USB Adapter. using an adapter is the way to connect it directly, and not through a hub or dock.

You need a simple passthrough USB-A to USB-C adapter. Apple sells a good one.
Try a direct connection to the Mac, i.e. no MultiPort adapter.
I only have Thunderbolt connections. It’sa MacBook Air

Yup, it was the Adaptor sold to me by Apple that didn't allow the Samsung to properly work. Cable works fine. Cheers ku4hx
