For the OP - if it is ghost touch (where the touchscreen seems to be recording seemingly random contacts) then it's most likely a failing digitizer and the only way to repair it would be to replace the digitizer. Apple repairs it as a complete replacement of the front screen assembly, including the glass, digitizer, and display.

Removing an App:

If this is an app, then hold you finger down on it until it wiggles. Then, tap the "X" while it is wiggling. As a last step, Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Get a diagnosis, preferably at an Apple Store. If there's a software issue, they should be able to clear it up. If it's a hardware issue, then you'll have to pay for the repair unless it's still under warranty (or AppleCare).

Sounds like a possibly failing touchscreen. Do as y_p_w suggests and make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store.
