Just recently on my iPhone 11 and iPad when the headphones are pulled out the media still keeps on playing (it use to automatically pause). More annoying is that when connected by Bluetooth to my car the media does not pause when I receive or make telephone calls. Is there a simple solution here?

First, ensure the devices are using the latest iOS/iPadOS version (15.6): Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Similarly, check for any updates for the app(s) being used: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support
This will ensure the latest/fixes improvements are applied.
Also, try forcing the app that's being used to quit, and then relaunch it, and see if that has helped: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
Restarting the devices can also help to give them a quick refresh, and may resolve some odd issues that come up: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Hi Eric, thank you for taking your time to reply to the issue. However, I have since found that the problem lies with only two apps, Talksport and Talkradio. I will have to email them to see if they can address the problem.
