IPad Pro 5th gen unable to power on. Apple says damaged dock connector.

My Ipad Pro suddenly won't turn on, so I sent it to Apple for service.

They told me dock connector is damaged and sent me a pic. Says it's not

covered under the limited warranty, wants $750. I thought this is normal

wear and tear and should be covered. What can I do?

If you had AppleCare+, yes, it would have covered it. Unfortunately, since you did not have it, it’s too late to add it now.

You can’t purchase coverage for a device that’s already damaged. That would be like taking out a life insurance policy on someone who is already dead…

Apple trade-in values are typically lower than the fixed-price repair - the latter typically being c.60% of the initial purchase cost.

Being a “current” product, if repaired, you’d perhaps achieve a better value of you sell the iPad privately - and use the proceeds towards the replacement device.
