Hijri calendar correction

Today is 1st of Muharram 1444 but the Islamic calender on my iPhone is showing 30th of Dhul-Hijja, how do you correct this? There should be an adjuster to either increase or decrease this date as Islamic calender is based on moon sighting. Could Apple not find a way of fixing this please. Any help is welcome. Thanks.

Hello bolaji96,

Ensuring the holidays are shown correctly in the Calendar app is important. If you haven't already, you'll want to update iOS to the latest version which is currently iOS 15.6. Updating iOS is a great step that can help with resolving this issue. You can find the steps for updating listed below, along with the following article.

  1. "Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see two software update options available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let us know if the holiday continues to appear incorrectly after updating!

Have a great day!

Thanks Todd0213

Thank you so much for your invaluable help. Actually my system is up to date running at iOS 15.6. However the main issue is still there. How to adjust the 'Hijiri date' as this alternative calendar is luna based. An adjuster is what is really needed i.e a programme to increase or decrease (+/-) the calendar by a day or two.

Thanks Todd0213.

Have a great day.
