No longer reachable at my phone number

So I recently switched my information from my old phone (which was beaten within an inch of it's life,) to a phone that my mother used to own. To the best of my knowledge I checked all the correct boxes and set it up how I was supposed to. The only issue is, my number is no longer connected to any of my devices (being my laptop and phone). In the 'reachable at' box, it has my gmail and iCloud account, but no longer my actual phone number. To add a number to be reachable at you need it to be verified via a code sent to that number, but because my number was kicked from both of my devices I can't receive that code. I can't contact any helplines because I dont have a number, so right now I'm just running in circles. How do I fix this? I kind of need my number asap.

Did you move the SIM card from your old phone to your “new” phone? See→iPhone and iPad: How to remove the SIM card or watch this video:

Alternatively, contact your carrier and ask for a new SIM card.
