Problem w screenshot - screen greyed out afterwards.

So, with my job I have to take a lot of screenshots and today after doing so the greyed out area remained on screen after the screenshot was taken.

I have restarted and the greyed out area disappeared then when I got back to taking screenshots again, this error occurred again.

I am running 12.5 on a 16inch 2019 MacBook Pro.

Just to clarify the below image is of an empty untitled folder expanded to full screen.
