Deleting iCloud backup from iPad

I wanna remove my iPad off my account and take back my iCloud storage. The problem is my iPad has taken all my iCloud backup, my phone has never been backed up. I’m afraid that if I delete my iCloud backup from my iPad a chuck that has been backed up will be removed off my phone.

(In sense I want to erase my iPad off my account that’s also connected to my phone but not end up accidentally erasing some of my iPhone’s or all of it. If that makes sense.)

iPad, iPadOS 14

Deleting an iCloud Backup will not remove any information from a device; it only deletes the backup from iCloud. Also, deleting an iCloud Backup of an iPad will not delete anything from your iPhone.

To delete a backup, see the following from Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

  1. Go to Settings > [your name], then tap iCloud.
  2. Tap Manage Storage > Backups.
  3. Tap the name of the device whose backup you'd like to delete.
  4. Tap Delete Backup > Turn Off & Delete.

When you delete a backup, it also turns off iCloud Backup for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You can turn iCloud Backup back on in iCloud settings on your device.
