my screen won't auto rotate. my apps are stuck in either vertical or horizontal view. I followed the instructions on the apple website but it does not change anything.
earlier today I had to change my SIM card as some of the apps weren't working. the apps now work, But as described above.

Open the phone and go to Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner. See the icon I have circled in red, that is the orientation lock. It is off in this photo, but when it is a white with a red lock it is on. Tap it if necessary to make it match the screenshot.

Chris thanks for the input. But the suggestion that you wrote are exactly the instructions that I follow that I mentioned in my posting. And it didn’t work. What did work was gone I booted my phone down and booted it back up. Regardless thanks for your reply
