Apple tv box 4K remote control

I have been trying unsuccessfully to control the volume of my Bose soundbar with the Apple TV Box remote control. I tried with "apple support" and several sources of online queries without success. I found many people with the same problem: "after the "learn" procedure" nothing happened". Finally I found a solution, at least for the "Bose Soundbar", doing the whole "learn" process, as indicated in the "settings", but with the soundbar on "off". It works now without problem.

Apple TV 4K remote and soundbar volume I am looking for help getting my Apple TV 4K remote to control volume on my Samsung soundbar. I have followed the instructions through Settings > Remotes and Devices > Volume Control > Learn New Device… but this did not work. When prompted, I pressed the volume up/down and mute buttons on the Samsung remote and named the device. I then clicked volume buttons on the Apple TV remote to test the configuration, but my Samsung TV displayed a message “Your TV is set to use external speakers. Adjust the volume on the connected speakers directly.” I double-checked that volume control was set to the new configuration, instead of Auto or TV via IR. It seems that the Apple TV remote is still sending volume commands to the TV, instead of the soundbar. Can anyone please advise?

Apple TV remote no longer controls receiver I used to be able to control my Yamaha receiver and my Bose sound bar with my two Apple remotes. Now they no longer control the volume. I’m forced to use two remotes now. Apple did you mess something up with the latest iOS please fix it. This is annoying.

Apple TV 4K 64gb vs Bose 900 sound bar New 4K 64gb works fine but I cannot get it to control volume on the Bose 900 soundbar. Tried Remotes and Devices/Learn Remote. It does not recognize the Bose remote. Tried the Volume Control Function/Learn New Device. Again the Apple TV does not recognize the Bose Remote. what is very curious is that this new ATV replaced a much older ATV that had no issues controlling the Bose Soundbar. truly would appreciate any help/guidance. Not too fond of having to use multiple remotes. thanks.
