I’m tired of thinking I’m sending a message to my wife, only to find out later I sent it to someone else. How can I hide my messages, not delete them, just don’t show them on my iPad. Or make my iPad ask me to verify who I’m sending it to. I want to still find them, I just don’t want to think I’m replying to one friend only to find out I sent it to the wrong friend.

There is no way to hide messages on the iPad. Also, there is no way for the iPad be able to verify who you are wanting to send a message to as the iPad has no way of knowing who you are trying to text. You do have the option to pin a message to the top of your Messages so it makes it easier to get to a specific person to text.
