How to update if it says it's up to date?

How do I upgrade my software if it’s @ 12.5 but I need the latest version but it’s telling me it’s up to date even tho its not ?

Your post shows that you have an iPhone 6. That model cannot be updated beyond iOS 12.5.5.


If you want to use apps or features that require iOS 13 or later, then you must purchase a newer model iPhone.

The iOS and iPadOS software update system does not give choices or selections. It will always only offer the very latest version that is compatible with your hardware. When it says it is "up to date" it is telling you there is no newer version of the operating system that is compatible with your hardware.


The only option run a newer version of iOS would be to get a newer device.
